Received word that the USCGC TAMAROA will soon be sunk as an artificial reef off Delaware, New Jersey. They are targeting October 31st, the anniversary of the Perfect Storm in which she played a big role. She was my first duty out of boot camp. A lot of memories there. In todays parlance; at the tender age of 19 she was my "safe space".
At least she will still be useful and not just cut up for razor blades!!!!
